Aqua Vibrant is a ceiling/wall tension fabric wall sculpture portraying the essence of water. The place of installation is Lakes Regional Community College, in Laconia, New Hampshire. Water is the vital force in the community. The sculpture captures the wild rivers and streams that feed the Lakes Region. It undulates across the ceiling above the beams, from the windows to the doorway, and down the wall to the entrance door.
This is a hand painted fabric-in-tension sculpture, an abstract river that I named "Aqua Vibrant”, intended to trigger the energy and the vibrancy of the community college. It is placed in the Academic Commons to inspire students to great achievements in their own communities, whether the Lakes Region or the world.
My art transforms spaces into human experiences through the medium of fabric. Fabric dampens sound, and its curves remind of natural forms. I seek to create environments of tranquility and well-being: light and airy, quiet and secure.
